An ultramarathon runner was disqualified for allegedly cheating by using a car.

In the GB Ultras Manchester to Liverpool race on April 7, Scottish ultra-marathon runner Joasia Zakrzewski finished third, but has since been disqualified due to inconsistent tracking data taken during the race, according to officials.

"As a result of our investigation of the issue, we are able to confirm that a runner has now been disqualified from the race for taking vehicle transport during part of the route, based on data from our race tracking system, GPX data, statements provided by our event team, other competitors, and the participant herself," Drinkwater said during the BBC interview. TRA (Trail Running Association) and UK Athletics (UKA) are now responsible for regulating the matter.

There have been no public statements or admissions of wrongdoing by Zakrzewski.
